The second ODI match between Team India and South Africa is scheduled to be played on December 3 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Raipur

Ahead of the match, Rohit is shy of 137 runs to achieve the feat of completing 1000 runs against the Proteas in the 50-over format

So far, he has made 27 ODI appearances against South Africa and has scored 863 runs. His top score against them is 150 runs, and also has three centuries and the same number of half-centuries

In the previous ODI match against the Aiden Markram-led side, the 38-year-old cricketer played a knock of 57 runs in 51 balls, including five boundaries and three maximums

Currently, the "Men in Blue" are leading the three-match ODI series by 1-0 against the Proteas
