Campion edge out Don Bosco ‘B’ 1-0 to enter Div-II quarters

Campion School (Colaba) beat Don Bosco High School ‘B' (Matunga) 1-0 to book a place in the boys U-16 Div-II quarter-finals of the Dream Sports Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA) inter-school football tournament at Wings Sports Centre, Bandra, on Tuesday.

Campion controlled possession for most of the first-half, but a breakthrough proved elusive. Their best chance came in the 20th minute when Arhaan Engineer struck the post.

However, Campion continued to apply pressure after the break and finally earned their reward in the 26th minute as Darren D'Souza latched onto a pass inside the penalty area and slotted the ball into the bottom right corner to hand his side a deserved win.

Meanwhile, in a Div-II Pool ‘B' match, DG Khetan International School (Malad) defeated Lilavati Podar High School (Santacruz) 2-0, thanks to goals from Mahir Gandhi and Arnav Sawant.

On Monday, in a Div-I Pool ‘A' match, Cathedral and John Connon (Fort) cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Cambridge International School (Kandivli).
