Premier League: Chelsea edge out Brighton 4-3 in thrilling clash

Free-scoring Chelsea extended Xabi Alonso's perfect start as manager with an eye-catching 4-3 win against Brighton in the English Premier League (EPL) on Sunday.

The match also marked goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez's debut for the Blues, just hours after his transfer from Aston Villa was announced.

Romeo Lavia (4th min) opened the scoring before Pedro Neto (14th min) doubled the Blues' lead. Joao Pedro (32nd min) added a third before Brighton's Malick Yalcouye (35th min) pulled one back late.

Pedro's own goal (63rd min) gave Chelsea a few anxious moments before Cole Palmer struck (74th min). Pascal Gross netted for Brighton in stoppage-time but it was too late to derail Chelsea.
