Tottenham captain Kane says Spurs keen to put Liverpool's title ambitions to bed when the two teams clash today

London: Tottenham captain Kane says Spurs keen to put Liverpool's title ambitions to bed when the two teams clash today. With Jurgen Klopp's men struggling, victory for Spurs would open up a seven-point gap with Liverpool and keep them close to leaders Chelsea.

And it is the perfect time for Spurs to visit Liverpool, who have managed just one win in their last 10 games since the turn of the year. "It is an important game for us. We want to build the gap on Liverpool and if we beat them next week then we go seven points clear of them," Kane said.

"That is what we want to try to do. We want to catch Chelsea and it's important that we stay as high up the table as possible. It's important for us to build a gap over other teams. We don't know if we can catch Chelsea. All we can do is win our games. Hopefully they drop a few points here and there," Kane added.
