Veteran England midfielder and former skipper Jordan Henderson backed teammate Jude Bellingham to be England's âX-factor' at the FIFA World Cup.
The Three Lions get their campaign underway in a clash against Croatia on Wednesday. Much of the debate around Thomas Tuchel's starting eleven focuses on who will occupy the No. 10 spot, Bellingham or Morgan Rogers. However, Henderson reckons the Real Madrid man holds the key to England's fortunes in this tournament.
"I'm sure he [Bellingham] will have a big impact for us in this tournament. I think everybody forgets how young he is. I honestly couldn't speak highly enough of him. I just know how big an influence he is on this team, how good a teammate he is off the field. And what he gives us is just something really special, he really gives us the X-factor in our team. Jude has had big moments in his career, he's a big game player, he's got experience in tournaments, so he's a huge, huge player for us in this tournament," said Henderson.
Meanwhile, Croatia will rely on Luka Modric, 40, to weave his magic for perhaps the last time on the global stage. He will receive support from veteran forwards Ivan Perisic and Andrej Kramaric.
