Arne Slot was sacked as Liverpool coach on Saturday after two seasons in charge.

Slot, who guided the club to their 20th English Premier League title in his debut season, was unable to help the Reds defend their title this campaign, finishing a fifth - 25 points behind champs Arsenal.

"The contribution Arne has made to Liverpool FC has been significant, meaningful, and successful. [But] we've come to the conclusion that change is necessary in order for the club to keep moving forward," read a statement by the club's owners Fenway Sports Group.
