Bayern Munich's star striker Harry Kane blamed their ‘wasteful' finishing in both legs of the Champions League semi-final tie against Paris Saint-Germain for their ouster from the competition on Wednesday.

"Congratulations to PSG. They took their chances in both games, and that's why we're no longer in the competition. I think over the two games, we had enough opportunities to achieve a different result, but it didn't work out. From our point of view, we were a bit wasteful in the attacking third, even though we showed a lot of good football in midfield. But the final cross, the final pass, the final shot, just didn't work out," lamented the Englishman.

This was the second time in the last three seasons that the German giants have tripped up in the last-four stage.

Bayern have not progressed from a two-legged semi-final since 2013.
