London: Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood insisted it was "business as usual" on Monday despite fresh reports he would be replaced at White Hart Lane come the end of the season.

The former Spurs midfielder replaced the sacked Andre Villas-Boas in December but has found life tough going in recent matches after an encouraging start in charge of the north London club.

Tottenham head into their Premier League match at home to bottom of the table Sunderland on Monday seventh in the table.

They are seven points adrift of a Europa League place and eight shy of fourth-placed arch-rivals Arsenal, who occupy the coveted final Champions League spot on offer to English clubs.

"I can't say much right now," Sherwood, speaking ahead of the Sunderland match, told Sky Sports: "What I can say is tonight is business as usual.

"I'm setting this team up to win a football match for the benefit of the club and the 35,000 Spurs fans who will come and watch. I'll speak at a later stage."

Veteran Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal and Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino have both been linked with the White Hart Lane hot-seat as has Ajax coach Frank de Boer.
