Wayne Rooney ‘livid’ at Carroll’s drinking party claim

England and Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney is reportedly ‘livid' with former teammate Andy Carroll, who claimed in his book, Owning It, that Rooney used to host drinking parties in his hotel room while on England duty.

An insider told British tabloid The Sun: "Wayne is livid. He is not messing around. His legal team have sent a strongly worded letter to the publisher. He wants it retracted as it is completely untrue. Wayne knows he's no angel, but this crossed the line. It's a matter of principle."

Another source said: "Andy is spiralling over the whole situation. He did not think that Rooney would kick off like this."
