Twice as nice for shuttler Singhi

Simran Singhi of Ryan International (Malad) won titles in two different categories of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) inter-school badminton championships at the CCI courts on Saturday.


The 13-year-old first won the girls U-14 title defeating top seed Riya Arolkar of Auxillium Convent (Wadala) 21-13, 21-18.

Later, Simran teamed up with Stuti Agarwal to win the girls U-16 team championship. The Malad team beat Lilavatibai Podar (Santacruz) 2-0 in the best-of-three final.

In the first singles, Stuti defeated Lilavatibai Podar's Radhika Dagaonkar 21-18, 21-17. In the second singles, Simran beat girl's U-16 top seed Kalpita Sawant 21-18, 21-18 and wrapped up proceedings.
