US skiing champ gets philosophical about her age after becoming the oldest woman, at 32, to win a medal at the Swiss world championships

American skiing champion Lindsey Vonn got a tad philosophical after becoming the oldest women, at 32, to win a medal, a bronze, at the world alpine ski championships in St Moritz, Switzerland on Sunday.
"To be the oldest world championships medalist on the women's side... I'm really proud of that. I just want to say, I'm not that old but I guess I'm old, so I'm happy. No one wants to talk about my age, but you know what, it's cool. I'm old and I'm proud," said Vonn, adding that it felt good to be respected by her younger opponents.
"I've gotten a lot of really nice compliments from girls on the World Cup, saying how much they respect me, and I feel like I'm getting to that point now where people think I'm going to retire soon. Maybe, I will and maybe I won't, but it's nice to get that respect because all these girls are really young and they're all going to replace me when I retire. It's a good feeling to have that respect from the girls."
