Cardinal, the Placervilleu00a0- Haunting Beauty four year old who narrowly lost the Indian 2000 Guineas to Pronto Star last month, has another chance to redeem his reputation as he takes on three local & two outstation
challengers in the grade 2, Ramniwas Ramnarain Ruia Gold Cup, the ten-furlong race which is slated as the feature event of Sunday's bumper ten-race card at Mahalaxmi.

The Pesi Shroff-trained colt to be ridden by B Prakash will carry Vijay Shirke's silks, while his main challenger Field Marshal, who has reeled off his last four races that include the Mysore & Bangalore 2000 Guineas & the
Mysore Derby, is trained by S Padmanabhan & will be ridden by David Allan. He will race in Haresh Mehta's colours.

Vijay Mallya's Sergeant Pepper & Dr MAM Ramaswamy's Star Marquess can add spice to the finish, especially the latter who may find the long Mahalaxmi stretch to his liking.

I expect Cardinal to win from Star Marquess.
