Djoko-Sabalenka pairing headlines US Open mixed doubles draw

Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic and women's World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka are among the top pairings that will contest the US Open mixed doubles.

Italian doubles specialists Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori will defend the title they won last year, while some of the other headline combinations include, Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud, Elena Rybakina and Taylor Fritz, Mirra Andreeva and Andrey Rublev, as well as Naomi Osaka and Kei Nishikori, among others.

The format of the US Open mixed doubles was revamped last year, with doubles specialists, apart from the defending champions, excluded in favour of singles superstars, in order to attract more eyeballs.

Other reforms to the format included a shorter scoring format in the earlier rounds and a new scheduling slot - played over two days - before the singles draws.
