Arnav Paparkar, 18, who became the first Indian since 2001 to reach the boy's singles last eight at Wimbledon on Wednesday, said it was a âspecial' moment to enter his maiden Grand Slam quarter-finals at the All England Club.
"This is my first Grand Slam quarter-final, and to achieve it here is even more special," Paparkar told JioStar after his 6-2, 6-1 win over Japan's Ryo Tabata.
"This was the toughest tie I have played here. The scoreline doesn't show it, but he was carrying an injury, and it is difficult to play against an injured opponent because you start thinking that he is struggling, and it can make you lose focus," Paparkar added.
