HI president Tirkey strips DG Srivastava of all his powers

The internal rift within Hockey India (HI) took a new turn on Saturday after its president Dilip Tirkey served a show cause notice to Director General Cdr RK Srivastava, stripping him of all his powers.

The reason for the legal notice was to "maintain discipline, accountability and the smooth functioning of HI".

"On behalf of my client Mr Tirkey, in the interest of maintaining discipline, accountability and the smooth functioning of HI, we inform you that with immediate effect all your powers as the DG cease," Tirkey said in an email to the DG through his lawyer.
