Rajat Sharma struck five times in Union Bank of India's 6-4 triumph over Central Railway yesterday in the Men's Open final of the Mount Carmel Invitation rink hockey tournament 2017, organised by the Carmel Sports Committee.

The live wire in the Union Bank attack, Sharma opened the scoring with a neat deflection early in the first half while his teammate, young Prince Chaurasia, added the second with another deft touch.

Central managed to reduce the deficit with Narad Bahadur scoring a penalty stroke late in the first half.

In the second half, Central Railway went all-out to try and level the scores, but Sharma struck thrice to put his team in cruise control.

Central got three more goals through Bahadur scoring from two more penalty strokes and Rajendra Pawar's scoring a field goal, but their valiant efforts proved to be futile.
