Usain Bolt grew up wanting to be a cricketer, however, that dream never quite materialised. Nevertheless, on Friday at the Jamnabai Narsee International School's (Juhu) ground, the Jamaican got a taste of what it's like to face an international bowler in the form of former India and Mumbai left-arm spinner Nilesh Kulkarni, who came away awestruck by the experience.
"It was fantastic. To bowl to a world record holder in athletics is an absolutely special experience," Kulkarni, who featured in three Tests and 10 ODIs for India, told mid-day moments after bowling to Bolt and getting bowled over himself by the legend's charisma.
"I simply put in a request asking him if he would mind facing a few balls from me, because I certainly can't run a race against him," said Kulkarni with a laugh.
"I bowled six balls to him and he hit me for one boundary, which he enjoyed very much, as did I," added Kulkarni.
