Olympic gold medallist Michael Phelps to play role of lifeguard in 'Baywatch'

Former American Olympic gold medallist swimmer Michael Phelps will play the role of a lifeguard in upcoming Hollywood flick, Baywatch.

In the promo released on lead actor Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock's Instagram account, Phelps is seen trying to impress him for a role in the film.

"I want in," Phelps tells Johnson in the clip.

"No, no. This is not some little kiddie pool in Rio, Mike. This is the beach, and you gotta earn this," Johnson replies, before putting Phelps through a series of tests like holding his breath and doing CPR (left). "The NEWEST member of #BAYWATCH," Johnson wrote on Instagram after Phelps passed the test.
