Sindhu compares monkey whisperers at World C’ships in Delhi to Wimbledon’s hawk Rufus

There have been sharp reactions to recent media reports, revealing that the organisers of the BWF World Championships, starting on August 17 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi, have hired monkey whisperers to chase primates after the same venue was plagued by monkeys during the India Open recently.

India shuttler PV Sindhu however, felt there was nothing wrong in this, and compared it to something similar at Wimbledon.

"I don't understand the outrage. We all love Wimbledon, and they've had Rufus, the hawk, keeping pigeons away for years. Every major sporting event has its own local challenges," Sindhu wrote on X.
