Sri Lanka's Rumesh Pathirage became only the fourth athlete ever to breach the 92m mark in javelin throw for the second time, when he touched 92.07m to win the Zurich Diamond League on Friday. Pathirage, 23, who threw 92.62m at the Rome edition in June, registered the distance in his sixth and final attempt.

Neeraj qualifies for DL Finals

Indian javelin throw ace Neeraj Chopra has qualified for the Diamond League Finals to be held in Brussels, Belgium on September 5 despite competing in just two events of the one-day meeting series.

Former world and Olympic champion Chopra secured 12 points after finishing second in both the Doha and Lausanne Diamond League events on June 19 and August 21 respectively to take the sixth spot in the standings.
