St Lawrence High School (Kandivli) defeated St Xavier's High School by a solitary goal in the boys' U-16 final of the Poinsur Gymkhana's inter-school football tournament at their ground at Kandivli yesterday.
After a goalless first half, the winning goal came soon within two minutes into the second half when Rahul Rawat hoodwinked the onrushing goalkeeper to put the ball into the net. After their surprise win over fancied Saint Francis D'Assisi High School in the semi-finals, St Lawrence were made to struggle before they got the winner.
