Birmingham: Top seed Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei won the women's singles title of the All England Open badminton championships here, while the men's singles title went to top seed Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia.

Chong Wei breezed past Chinese debutant Shi Yuqi 21-12, 21-10 to win his fourth title at the world's oldest badminton event.

World No.1 Tai on Sunday beat former world champion and fifth seed Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand 21-16, 22-20 in 51 minutes in the final to claim her country's first trophy in this category at the All England. "It was an intense match so I am happy to win. I don't think I made too many mistakes. The scores were always close. During the second game I was trailing a few times but I kept telling myself not to give up," Tai told Badminton World Federation (BWF) website.
