US gymnastics star Simone Biles, 29, has jetted off to Belize for a vacation after suffering a near-death experience earlier this month.

Biles, a 23-time world champion, Instagrammed this picture to her 11.8 million online followers, wearing a red and black swimsuit. She captioned the post: "Till next time, Belize."

Earlier this month, the seven-time Olympic gold medallist had said: "Almost dying was not on my bingo card." Describing it as "one of the scariest moments of my life."
