World No. 1 tennis ace Aryna Sabalenka, 28, is known to be quite the fashionista on social media, never missing a chance to show off her stunning outfits to her 5.5 million followers. Now, she has decided to bring some of that glamour onto the court at the US Open, revealing that she'll be sporting a two-piece orange kit worn under a black mesh-like outer layer. However, the new design has drawn a lot of flak from her fans, forcing Sabalenka to defend her choice.
One fan commented: "I love you, but this is hard to defend," while another said: "I'm shocked. Seriously, it's simply unacceptable for the World No. 1 to wear this."
The four-time Grand Slam-winner however, explained that her outfit is inspired by basketball which is very popular in New York. Interestingly, the New York Knicks recently won their first NBA title since 1973. "It's basketball inspired and we're in New York. Isn't it the perfect fit? I love basically everything about my outfit. I love that it's different and bold. I heard people on the internet didn't like it... I just think that's funny," said Sabalenka.
