Bachchan abhi zinda hai

Long after social media plaform Tumblr died, Amitabh Bachchan is still out here, keeping its memory alive. After conquering the world of tweets, he has now moved on to Tumblr, where he gives readers a look into not just the glamourous life of Bollywood's biggest celebrity but also the calm of being the wise grandfather of Indian cinema.

This hidden gem in the lanes of Tumblr contains everything about the icon's life, right from his daily routine to the quirky events he attends, and even the books he reads (grey hair can attest to that). He posts daily and adds a quirky handwritten signature at the end of all his posts.

In his "About" section, the page reads, "I am Amitabh Bachchan". He's a man of a few words indeed! That's till we read his impressive poetry and writing. The man is a connoisseur of art and takes to Tumblr regularly to appreciate the music and films he has been watching. In a recent post, we also see him appreciating the love his fans showed for him at his home "Jalsa" in Juhu, Mumbai.

Make your dork

If you remember any book fairs during school hours, then you will remember the shelf of dazzling pink, purple, and blue books. As a kid, those books would encompass what you thought middle school and high school would be like - full of crushes, gossip, and a lot of fun.

PIC/DORKDIARIES

The Dork Diaries, published on June 2, 2009, is a diary-based book written using caricatures, drawings, comic strips, and doodles. It follows the life of a 14-year-old teenage girl called Nikki Maxwell. Every book centres around a certain theme pertaining to academic or social life and has a title always beginning with "Tale of a Not-So…".

To pull your nostalgic strings, the Dork Maker comes to life. A website that helps you create your own dork and customise various features including hair, facial features, clothes, accessories, and several other details to make the character just like you or any fictional being!

Making Connections, Indian-style

Are you sick and tired of the same New York Times games? Are you annoyed that these games are so American-centric? Do you want another version that taps into your knowledge about the world that you live in? Then Mimir is for you! A game specially designed to fit the format of a person living in India or who has enough knowledge of Indian culture.

PIC/MIMIRGAMES

Like the original game, Connections, players are meant to find a common thread between an array of words that seem unrelated and sort them into umbrella categories that define them.

However, Mimir makes sure that this version follows an Indian route, incorporating references from Indian food, sports, geography, television, media, festivals, politics, and popular culture. The game inadvertently becomes accessible to a broader audience, especially making it easier for users who have minimal knowledge of American media or culture.

Rolling the dice with AirD&D

Once a month in Mumbai, a group of strangers gathers inside an Airbnb not for a party, but for an eight-hour-long fantasy quest. Calling themselves "AirD&D", the community meets to play the tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons, stepping into imaginary worlds filled with monsters, magic, and elaborate storytelling.

Players spend hours embodying fictional characters, solving mysteries and navigating adventures together. But beyond the game, AirD&D has become a social space in a city often criticised for being isolating. For many, it is a rare chance to disconnect from screens and build genuine friendships through collaborative role play and shared imagination.
