Republic day should be celebrated on the streets, not cooped up inside the house. Here are just a few activities that you can partake in, to celebrate with the city and the country.

6 PM onwards
See the historic buildings in tricolours

Like every year, all the iconic monuments of the city will be illuminated in the colours of the flag for Republic Day. Drive past the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mantralaya and Bombay Stock Exchange building to catch the lights.

7.30 - 8.30 AM
Tank up on a jalebi-fafda breakfast

A Republic Day celebration is incomplete without the traditional Gujarati snack combo jalebi and fafda. If you just nodded your head as you read this, do head to Pancharatna. While you are there, try a portion of their famous meethi bhajiya, and don't forget to ask for extra raw papaya chutney.
