4 rob showroom, held

Yerawada police have arrested four men on charges of committing a burglary at the showroom of Chandan Living and Interiors on Nagar road.

The accused have been identified as Tejas Champalal Unecha (27) of Shriram Society in Karadi and originally from Rajasthan, Sachin Shivaji Sartape (23) from Indapur, Nilesh alias Appa Subhash Sakore (26) of Kharadi and Mukesh Rangnath Somvanshi (27) from Chandannagar. All four have been remanded in police custody till January 8 by the court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) on Sunday.


Showroom manager Sachin Ugamraj Mehta (38) has lodged a case against the miscreants. Police have recovered two LED television sets, two music systems, car security and audio installation kit, tubeless tyres and acrylic chairs etc from the house of Unecha.


Sub-inspector Abhijit Ahirrao of Yerawada police station said, “Tejas Unecha runs a shop in Sainathnagar area. He is the gang leader, and has committed similar offences earlier too. The accused distribute the stolen valuables, equipment etc. The Unecha gang members also have significant criminal records, with several cases registered against them at Deccan, Kothrud, Warje, Bhosari police stations.”
