Hard Rock Cafe is bringing musicians and fans together for Pinktober for breast cancer awareness. The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Shefali Alvarez and the Distill Soul will kickstart the Pinktober special performances with their act at Hard Rock Cafe.

Distill Soul features a talented bunch of musicians- including Jarvis Menezes (keys / synth), Rushad Mistry (bass), Pozy Dhar (lead guitar) and Jai Row Kavi (drums). Talking about her first performance at the venue, Alvarezu00a0 says, "We will be performing covers by Toto, Porcupine Tree and other bands as well as some of our originals such as Ancient Lies and Blocking."

Alvarez has performed in the city several times and has made her presence felt among music lovers. She says, "I love coming to Pune and I am extremely excited to be here again. I have performed a few shows with my father Joe Alvarez and it has been fun every time."

She is keeping her cards close to her chest and doesn't want to reveal what she has planned for the event. "You just have to wait and watch. I hope the crowds will enjoy the performance and we hope to make it a great experience for everyone present at the gig."

Alvarez is known for her Jazz music will also be performing in Pune on October 23. At this event, she will croon songs written by Javed Akhtar and composed by Sonu Nigam, to support the cause. The song is called "Jee Le" and features singers such as Shefali, Akriti Kakkar, Neha Bhasin, Shilpa Rao and Anushka Manchanda among others.

Talking about the reason for her participation in "Jee Le"' she says, "Its great how Devika Bhojwani has managed to create awareness about breast cancer. She got all of us together and it is a very important thing she does. Breast cancer is a new age disease and she has managed to create awareness not only among women but among men as well. She has even changed the way women look at the disease.

I will be performing a song from my album that is written by my father, titled Fire of your love and Born this Way by Lady Gaga because they portray the power and the grace of women. Proceeds from the Pink merchandise, cocktails and raffle tickets will go to the Ogaan Cancer Foundation. So join Alvarez and her band as they perform some electrifying music for a cause this Thursday.

On October 6, 9 pm onwards
