Yash Chopra. Dressed in their traditional best, Bollywood leading ladies Rekha, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukherji, Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra walked the ramp for a fashion show in memory of late filmmaker Yash Chopra on his birth anniversary this evening at YRF studio. Besides the models, the show saw a theme, where the popular songs from the respective films of all the nine heroines except Anushka and Parineeti, were played in the background as they walked the ramp.

The show began with an audio message that Anushka Sharma will pay tribute to Nargis and Parineeti to Madhubala. The mood was set as that of that golden era. Anushka wore a black colour sari and teamed it up with a red colour bhindi and Parineeti was seen in a heavy embroidery red colour lehenga. Sridevi, who looked elegant in Rajputana Rajhasthani wine colour ghagra, said she misses Chopra.

Madhuri dazzled the ramp in a black colour sequence sari. Priety Zinta and Parineeti Chopra spoke about having paratha's with Chopra. "All these actresses have one thing common...being directed by Yash Chopra...something I missed out on. But I had the honour of meeting him almost everyday, whenever I was here (YRF studio), having lunch with him. Wish him happy birthday from all of us," Parineeti said. Preity Zinta, who wore Kashmiri white sharara, said "May his soul rest in peace ...we all miss you."

Juhi said she was overwhelmed on being part of Chopra's films at the early stage of her career. "I had stepped into the film industry and he casted me for a guest appearance in 'Chandani'...it was a dream come true. Later, I worked with him in 'Darr'. I am happy I got to work with him. I am excited to be here to celebrate his birth anniversary," she said.

Shah Rukh Khan was joined by Yash Chopra's heroines on the ramp in a special tribute to the late filmmaker. "I am happy to have worked with him in so many films. I got chance to be with him...interviewed him on his last birthday. He looked at the inner beauty of women and presented them in a beautiful way," SRK said.

Shah Rukh, who had teamed up with Chopra in his last four films 'Darr', 'Dil To Pagal Hai', 'Veer-Zara' and 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan', had interviewed the director last year on his 80th birthday. Yash Chopra's wife Pamela Chopra had planned to celebrate her late husband's birth anniversary in a unique manner. She organised a fashion show to showcase India's first cinema inspired ethnic couture brand Diva'ni.

"I am delighted and pleased that all the wonderful divas, friends and family joined me in celebrating my husband's birth anniversary together this evening. Today's special commemoration is most befitting and I couldn't have asked for anything more," Pamela said. The veteran filmmaker died last year on October 21.

The fashion show primarily consisted of Indian wear -- choli, lehenga, sharara, laacha, sari, salwar suit and long gowns. The nine heroines wore the collection designed by Parinita Saluja and Anjali Dongre.
