The original film, Stalin, starring Cheeranjivi, did brisk business of Rs 30 crore when it released in 2006. Though the makers are tight-lipped about the financial transaction, a source close to the project says, “The deal has been done at an exorbitant amount.” However, the director of Jai Ho, Sohail Khan, denied it.
