Ashutosh Gowariker has begun work on his period drama, Panipat, with music composer duo, Ajay-Atul. They have been making him listen to their compositions. The film stars Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt. Shooting kicks off in November.

Acclaimed designer Neeta Lulla will also lend her creativity and expertise to the detailed costumes for Ashutosh Gowariker's period drama Panipat. In the past, the two creative minds collaborated for Jodhaa Akbar and Mohenjo Daro. Lulla had even won the National Film Award for Best Costume Design for the former movie.

Art director Nitin Desai is already working closely with Gowariker for the film and is recreating the Shaniwar Wada set for the film at N.D. Studios. The high-octane action film will be produced by Ashutosh Gowariker's wife, Sunita, and Rohit Shelatkar's company, Vision World.  Though Gowariker's last directorial venture, Mohenjo Daro (2016), was a dud, Shelatkar is certain that the filmmaker is perfect to helm Panipat. "Ashutosh has a tremendous track record. Lagaan (2001), Jodhaa Akbar (2008) and Swades (2004) are my favourites. I am confident that he will represent the subject in the best cinematic form," he says.

Panipat will release on December 6 next year.
