A 45-year-old woman, who is a resident of Gavali locality in Kalyan (east), got the shock of her life after discovering a baby snake slithering around in a metal bucket, which she filled up for a wash. According to a report by Times of India, the woman and the family blamed the authorities at the Kalyan-Dombivli municipality for the snake's entrance into their home.

They feel that the snake could crept in using the plugs in the pipeline. Municipal officials on the other hand maintain that the reptile could have gained access to the house through the water tank in the abode or the building, which the woman's family countered by saying that the water is supplied by the municipality in the first place.

Relatives of the lady shot a video of the snake, while it was in the bucket, which went viral on social media. It was then released in a forested area in the locality. The KDMC has also started plugging holes in the pipeline around the area as part of safety measures.
