In what can be called a shocking revelation, many young women are developing premature wrinkles from staring at their smartphones.

Smartphone-related wrinkles are the latest condition that doctors attribute to overuse of technology. Dr Jean-Louis Sebagh says that peering at a small screen causes your face to scrunch up, creating an area of tension around and between the brows, reports the Daily Mail.

The London-based anti-ageing expert said the phenomenon "can be seen on anyone who has and regularly checks a BlackBerry or iPhone."Sebagh, who treats celebrity clients including Cindy Crawford, reckons that excessive scrunching of the face is to blame for a rise in desperate women seeking "BlackBerry Botox".

Sebagh explained to the Evening Standard, "This phenomenon is not unusual with women living in London and the South-East. It can be seen on anyone who has and regularly checks a BlackBerry or iPhone." London beauty therapist Nichola Joss, who has also apparently noticed the phenomenon among her customers, said, "I've noticed a huge difference over the past 18 months in my clients' faces - it's the constant peering intently down at that mini screen. It's the same with an iPhone."

The solution, however, is a daily face massage, rather than Botox, Joss said.
