A slice of the city that misses the eye

Broken bridge, Navi Mumbai

Given the beauty of this season, serene places with greenery and calm waters flowing by make for a perfect romantic getaway. I f you are thinking you have to get out of Mumbai in search of this, think again.

The Broken Bridge, (well as the name suggests, it is a broken bridge, actually!) in Diwale Gaon in Belapur is a picture-perfect spot to spend an evening with friends during a downpour as the waters flow by.

The drive upto the bridge is equally beautiful. Drive till the end of Palm Beach Road and then turn right to reach Diwale Gaon. As you progress inside the gaon (village) you will notice that it gets greener and there are small boats afloat on the large expanse of water on the left. Towards the end of the road, you reach the broken bridge.

The bridge by itself is not a beautiful site but sit by the bridge looking at the water and the birds fluttering by, and it sure makes for a perfect monsoon setting. Don’t venture too far on the bridge, it’s broken and hence not too safe for an adventure.
