Cash, free education and a replica Harris Shield for Prithvi Shaw
One would have expected Prithvi Shaw to celebrate his record 546 lavishly. But the 14-year-old simply went to Kung Food, a Chinese joint in Bandra (East), along with a few friends for dinner last night.
Piling on 546 was indeed taxing for the youngster and add to this the media hounding later left the poor lad hungry and thirsty at the end of it all. Reporters were so engrossed in getting their sound bytes that they forgot the boy had returned after batting for almost three hours.
Meanwhile, Dr Akhtar Hasan Rizvi, Chairman of Rizvi Education Society, yesterday announced a cash prize of Rs one lakh for the youngster, besides free education at the Rizvi Education Society hereon.
Prithvi will also have some rare silverware in his trophy cabinet as MSSA President Fr Jude Rodrigues told MiD DAY that they will be presenting him a replica of the Harris Shield Trophy for his record knock.
