Acting on a tip-off, the Dindoshi police officials arrested a 20 year-old college student from a 'well-to-do' family for stealing motorbikes.
The arrested, who has been identified by a single name 'Bendre', was nabbed late on Friday. Cops said that Bendre's parents were wealthy, but the youngster reportedly lived a lavish lifestyle and required more money than his parents gave him. He took to stealing bikes to earn a quick buck and impress his friends, they added.
The police have recovered 10 bikes, mostly from Borivli and Dahisar, from Bendre. He has been arrested under charges of robbery and will be produced in the Borivli court. Bendre has no criminal record and the police are conducting further investigations to see if he might have stolen and sold more bikes.
