The raids were conducted on Mayur Impex, M K Suriah Shetty and Sons, Naresh Impex, Hinglaj Agencies, Hinglaj Trading Company, Sunlight Trading Company and Ramdev Electronics DPG Complex.
The arrested persons are Praveen Beem Singh (25), Modaram Kaze (20), Deeparam Sadaji (40), Dinesh Beemaraj (28), Jagathram Amjaramji (21), Lalith Kumar Anurai Jain (20) and Thalaram Riggaji (28). Most of the arrested are managers of the shops, while the owners are absconding. All accused has been charged under Sections 51, 63 of Copyright Act 1957 and 420 IPC.
In another case, the City Crime Branch (CCB) raided another shop, SA Times, which was selling branded watches that included Rado, Police, Longines, Breitling, Tissot, Tagheuer and Mont Blanc. Most of the watches costs around Rs 1 lakh, but the duplicate watches were being sold for Rs 500 to Rs 1,000.
The CCB has arrested Inam alias Mohammed (28) and seized branded watches worth Rs 5 lakh. A complaint has been registered at Chickpet police station, who are investigating.
