An uncanny recipe of 'Deep Fried Bubblegum' has been awarded as the 'Most Creative' at the State Fair of Texas's Big Tex Choice prize

According to the Star-Telegram, Justin Martinez, 30, created the recipe with bubblegum flavoured marshmallows rather than using gum itself.

He deep fried all the marshmallows and covered them in icing besides dusting them with powdered sugar.

"It does not work to fry bubblegum. It doesn't taste good, and you can't chew it," the New York Daily News quoted him as saying.

Martinez, who has worked at the Granny's Funnel Cakes and other artery combusting treats at the fair, said that the prize is a dream come true.

"I couldn't believe it. I was shocked. I tried so many years. I always said that one day, it would be great to ... be one of the top two," he added.
