The Giraffes, part of the Bonjour India Festival, comes to the capital after Hyderabad, Chennai and Pondicherry.u00a0 French stilt walkers will do the do, addressing their animalistic call. The story and the scenariou00a0 is ever-evolving, depending on the site, the audience, the time of the day, but chiefly, the stories are about emotional bondings, like a wedding, divorce and conclusions. Aww.

Produced by street art company Compagnie Off, this joyful theatrical will see a score of slow,u00a0 graceful red giraffes rocking their long, fragile and flexible necks across the street. They will even interact with the audience. "Initially, we kicked off with small outdoor performances, but today we perform on a big scale on various themes that touch our lives, like love and romance.

The one-and-a-half-hour long show, which was performed for the first time around a decade back, will be extremely lively. To be honest, a decade ago, I wanted to do it with real giraffes. I love the way giraffes move, but I settled for the puppet version, because it's more fun.

Also, our giraffes have evolved over the years. Initially, only one stilt walker was inside the giraffe, with iron legs at the back. Now, two stilt walkers take their place inside each giraffe. The stilt walker in the front controls the movement of the giraffe's neck by means of cables," explains same, Philippe Freslon, director, Compagnie Off.

Ditch the zoo, head to this do.
