Aaradhya Shinde would’ve been undergoing mixed feelings after his team, IES Digambar Patkar Vidyalaya (Dadar) lost their Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) Harris Shield boys’ U-16 inter-school Elite Division match to IES VN Sule Guruji (Dadar) by an innings and 162 runs at Cross Maidan yesterday. That’s because the skipper’s individual performances have earned him a call-up for the Mumbai Cricket Association’s (MCA) boys U-14 selections trials to be held at Bandra Kurla Complex.

The 13-year-old picked up four Sule Guruji wickets and also contributed with the bat, scoring 45-ball 63 runs even as his team were bowled out for 88 runs in the second innings.
In the first innings, the Patkar side were all for 142. Later, Sule Gurji declared their first innings on 349-6 in 88 overs.
Aaradhya’s performances have been pretty consistent though. In the recent Varroc Cup U-14 tournament, he scalped 20 wickets in four games.
Aaradhya’s Mumbai call-up means he will have to miss his team’s last Harris Shield fixture next week. But he wants his team to give it their best nevertheless.
“I want my team to go all out and play whole-heartedly and not think of my absence,” said Aaradhya.
