Hoardings with birthday wishes scream 12/12/12
The uniqueness of yesterday 12/12/12 proved to be thetalking point of the week and more so for those wanting to extend birthday wishes to their loved ones, even if it meant some may have broken the law to do so.
For a change however, the city saw several hoardings, but not the political kind, with photographs and messages wishing those celebrating their birthday today.
The PMC seems to have looked the other way as images of children and grownups alike adorned flex boards, and banners screamed birthday wishes with the numerical coincidence highlighted.
According to the Gregorian calendar, this the last such numerical coincidence this century When questioned about the relaxed attitude of the concerned department regarding illegal hoardings, Suresh Jagtap, Zonal Commissioner for Sahakar Nagar, Tilak Road, Bhavani Peth and related areas, said, “We removed four or five illegal hoardings last week. Today we were working in Hadapsar area. We work as per instructions from our seniors.”
Though the authorities claim to have removed several illegal hoardings in the recent past, a large number around the city prove otherwise. People are the using the date as a good reason to make their events and ceremonies memorable.
