Stardust and Pokécoins
Catching a Pokémon gives you 100 Stardust. You can also earn Stardust if you have Pokémons holding out gyms. The longer they are undefeated in a gym, the more Stardust you can earn. Pokécoins can only be earned by holding down a gym or be bought for cash. Coins are extremely useful, letting you upgrade various aspects of your player and also letting you buy supplies. You can collect your earned Stardust and coins from the store by clicking on the shield icon.
Battle it out
Battling is very tricky in Pokémon mostly because the controls are a little difficult. Before you start your battle, check the Pokémons occupying the gym and note down what type they are. Use our chart to figure out their weakness and attack using the right Pokémon. As a strategy, avoid heavy attacks especially with an opponent with a higher CP. Instead use weak attack while continuously dodging. Dodge till they have attack and then use your quick attack; it’s a long drawn process but you will win with lower losses. Switch between your Pokémon types to attack the opposing type. Don’t let your Pokémons cycle around till you get the right one.
How to catch a Pokémon
Finding a Pokémon isn’t the same as capturing it. There are several Pokémon that might exceed your capture level or your Pokeball level. You can, however, increase your chances with better Pokeballs and Razz berries. When you touch your Pokeball, the Pokémon will have a flashing coloured circle. Ideally, you need to wait till the inner circle is at its tiniest and throw the ball within the confines of that circle. Achieving that will give you the following capture bonuses:
Spin bonus: 0.5 Excellent throw: 1.7
Great throw: 1.3 Nice throw: 1
How to level up
If you want to level up fast, don’t evolve Pokémon till you get a free Lucky Egg. Once activated, the Egg will give you a Double XP for 30 minutes. Evolve all your Pokémons during this period to earn maximum and level up really fast. Pidgey, Weedle and other Pokémon that evolve with just 12 Candy are the best for this process. Make sure you have multiples of 12 before you start the process. While on the Lucky Egg, also activate Incense and Lure Module together to bring more Pokémons to your location. Or, piggyback on other players in Lure Module; just look out for pink petals surrounding a Pokestop and head there.
How to get Candy?
When you catch a Pokémon you will get three Candies for that Pokémon, you can get one more Candy by transferring a Pokémon to the professor. The Candy can be used to upgrade or evolve your Pokémon.
