Infant found dead in Mumbai train compartment

A body of an infant was found inside a train compartment in Bandra on Saturday. A young woman was also found lying unconscious next to the young boy. She had serious injury marks on her.


Around 4 am, a passenger discovered the duo inside a train that had come from the yard and was waiting on platform no-1 of Bandra railway station. The railway police was immediately informed and the two were taken to K B Bhabha Hospital where the boy was pronounced dead.


His body has been sent for postmortem. The woman has been admitted to the ICCU where she remains in a critical condition. The police are taking the help of CCTV footage to determine what led to this tragic incident.


Although they are yet to determine the identity of the duo, according to them the woman's age is around 25 years and the boy, who seems to have been her son, was around seven months old.
