Irrfan Khan says wife Sutapa Sikdar, who also produced his film Qarib Qarib Singlle (2017), is his closest friend. "My wife is my best friend. We discuss almost everything including my work. My wife thought producing a Qarib Qarib Singlle would be great as the love story was unique," said Khan.

He goes on to add how she has better creative understanding than him. "We studied in the same film school; my wife has a better understanding of many things than me, including performances (sic)."
