'Pappu Can't Dance Saala' appears similar in theme to 'Main Meri Patni Aur Woh'

Looks like it is all about the long and short of it ufffd give or take a few inches! Saurabh Shukla's Pappu Can't Dance Saala has been drawing similarities not only with the film's title and Imran Khan's Jaane Tu song, but with its theme as well.

One look at its picture and it's apparent that it is a lot like Chandan Arora's 2005 movie Main Meri Patni Aur Woh starring Rajpal Yadav, Rituparna Sengupta and Kay Kay Menon. Even the posters of the film seem to say so it is all about a tall woman and a short man.

Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh which was a remake of the 1989 Malayalam film Vadakkunokkiyantram was about a short-statured middle-aged man and his insecurities about his height and personality when he gets involved with an extremely tall woman.

Pappu... which stars Vinay Pathak, Neha Dhupia and Rajat Kapoor is also about a tall woman and a short guy! While Neha essays a Mumbai girl, Vinay is the Benarasi babu and both reside in the same building.

According to the film's spokesperson, however, "The height difference between the two actors is the only similarity. Pappu... is actually the story of two disparate individuals from a different backgrounds and outlook of life who find a middle ground of love. The difference of height has only been used as a metaphor."
