The Bombay High Court on Monday granted bail to Sooraj Pancholi, arrested in the Jiah Khan suicide case, after observing that he could not be held responsible for the actor's death.
Justice SS Jadhav released him on a bail of Rs 50,000 and has ordered him to report to the police station every alternate day. The budding actor has been told to deposit his passport.

The court prima facie noted that the letters found at Jiah's house were more of a diary entry than a suicide note, and even if they were considered to be love letters they had not reached sooraj.
The court further observed that Rabia Khan had possibly misconstrued a bouquet sent by Pancholi to Jiah's house wishing her all the best in her career and auditions as being the sign of a break up.
The court noted that Sooraj's act of deleting messages was not destruction of evidence and if that were the case he would also have destroyed the letters Jiah had written to him which police recovered from his home.u00a0
