Forty-four photographs that were selected by a jury for the Alliance Française Foundation’s Photographic Contest, are on display in the city.

The theme this time, was Professions of the World, where the frames depict men and women in an extraordinary diversity of professions prevailing around the globe, entailing as much beauty as hardship in their daily lives.

A total of 167 Alliance Française centres across 74 countries participated in the competition, where the jury presided over by photographer Françoise Huguier, chose Xiaogang Ning, from Alliance Française de Shanghai, as the winner. Five more photographers were commended, one of whom is Swarat Ghosh from Hyderabad.
