Justin Bieber has taken over the crown from Lady Gaga to become the most popular and influential person in social media.
Gaga had topped the ‘starcount’ chart since 2010. Starcount is the world’s only definitive measure of global social media popularity, adding up all 11 biggest global social networks to create a Starcount Score and create daily global leader boards.

At 18 years old Bieber is the most popular and influential entity in the world across global social media sitting on the number 1 spot in Starcount’s prestigious Global All Time Chart ahead of the likes of The Walt Disney Company number 4, Barack Obama number 12, Cristiano Ronaldo number 16 and Coca Cola number 18, the Daily Mail reported.
The ‘Baby’ hitmaker is managed by Scooter Braun who is fast becoming the ultimate social media manager propelling his artists careers into the social stratosphere.
In addition to managing Bieber, Braun looks after Psy the Korean Pop sensation who recently broke Bieber’s record for the most views of a video on YouTube ever, and Carly Rae Jepsen who has risen to fame after her song ‘Call Me Maybe’ went viral and now has over 357 million YouTube hits, a lot of which was accredited to a viral take on her video featuring Bieber and his girlfriend Selena Gomez.
Bieber has risen by almost 600,000 Facebook fans compared to Gaga’s 160,000. u00a0Bieber is behind on total fans though, with 48.8 million, while Gaga has 54.2 million Facebook fans.
Gaga has been the Queen of Twitter since overtaking Ashton Kutcher, Barack Obama and Britney Spears over two years ago. u00a0However, Bieber is edging closer to the coveted top spot, with over 315,000 new followers in the last week, taking his total up to 31.3 million followers.
