Film-maker Karan Johar on Tuesday said that he is extremely happy that law prevailed and the Supreme Court judgement is in favour of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's controversial release Padmaavat. "As a film-maker, I can only hope that we have a smooth release. Supreme Court judgement went in favour of Padmaavat, it is a matter of happiness that the law has prevailed," Karan Johar exclusively told ANI in Davos.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus is all set for a worldwide January 25 release in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. The film is based on 16th-century Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi's epic poem Padmaavat. The flick has run into trouble time and again, as members of several Rajput factions have accused the director of the film of distorting history.
