Madhav is naturally ecstatic to have ended his goal drought. “I have been performing well, but in the last three seasons, I failed to score. Now, it feels as if I am in seventh heaven,” Madhav said.

He credited coach Zakir Husain Ansari for backing him all through. “Zakir sir always backed me. At times, he used to be harsh on me, but he showed faith in me.”

Coach Ansari also showered praise on his ward. “He has good speed and shooting power, but he never utilised his skills. I am happy he has finally done it today. I would rate this match as his best. His goal encouraged the team to do well,” the coach said.

Meanwhile, Yash Chaudhry scored a brace for the winners while skipper Anas Vadgama and Tanmay Shah scored one apiece for the Mazgaon School. Tarun Pandey pulled one back for Thakur Vidya Mandir.
